The Academic Success Center (ASC) provides many services for students. These include on-campus tutoring, online tutoring, computer lab, computer assistance and Academic Skill Builder workshops.
Tutoring is a free service for our students. Our tutors are experts in specific subjects and will serve as a learning resource for you. They will help you review and study what you’ve learned in class.
Students can access subject-specific tutors at scheduled times simply through virtual tutoring. This will enable real-time face-to-face tutoring.
Academic Skill Builder Workshops offer a way for students to sharpen their skills in math, writing or reading. Workshop participants work independently from a textbook, with assistance from a tutor. Workshops are held in the Academic Success Center (Room 451) at the Grand Island Main Campus Building.
A $20 fee is required to register for the Workshop.
Registration forms are available in the Academic Success Center. Contact the Academic Success Center at 308-398-7481 for further information.
The Academic Success Center also functions as a computer lab with computers available for student use. The Academic Success Center staff is available to offer assistance with WebCentral, Canvas, student email, printing and other general computer use questions.
The Writing Center offers free, one-on-one assistance to Central Community College students as they strive to improve their writing skills. We provide CCC student writers with a welcoming, inviting, collaborative and supportive atmosphere in which they can develop their skills and make informed decisions about their writing. We promote writing excellence and the success of students in both their academic and future careers.
The writing center also offers free, one-on-one collaboration to Central Community College faculty and staff as they create assignments for their courses, write for publication, update their resumes and CVs, etc.
You are encouraged to schedule appointments in advance. We accept drop-ins. We do have a writing coach in the center.
Please contact the Academic Success Center coordinator for more information or for assistance in scheduling an appointment. Please describe what you need help with when scheduling.

Supplemental instruction is offered in courses that are historically difficult for students. A former student who excelled in the class facilitates group study sessions where students work together to practice the material through activities. These sessions are held weekly at a time that accommodates students’ schedules. Supplemental Instruction is a free service and participation is voluntary.
If you have subject-matter expertise and want to help others learn, then you may qualify. Our tutors are paid and work with individual students or study groups.
