Central Community College is excited to announce Raider Ready, a new course material delivery program that provides access to your required course materials in a convenient package before the first day of class. With this new program, all required course materials are included in the course charge, saving you 35-50 percent.
We are excited to offer you this convenient, affordable way to get all your course materials!
Raider Ready is a course materials delivery program that ensures ALL students across ALL courses have access to learning materials on or before the first day of class, allowing them to use course content from day one and supporting their academic success.
Through this program, physical books will be conveniently packaged and provided to students on a rental basis and digital materials will be delivered directly within Canvas. Costs will be included in the student’s account. At the end of the term, students will receive email reminders to return their physical course materials to the bookstore.
With Raider Ready, all required course materials are provided for a fee of $22 per credit hour applied to your student account.
NOTE: By default, each new semester, ALL registered students are opted-IN to the program. You must confirm your physical materials by choosing your preference between on-campus pickup and delivery.
Raider Ready provides all required textbooks, lab manuals, access codes and digital textbook versions to eligible students at a fee of $24.50 per credit per semester (e.g., $24.50 X 15 credits = $367.50).
Textbooks are issued on a rental basis and must either be returned or purchased outright at the end of the term. E-book subscriptions will automatically expire. No return is needed.
The charge does NOT cover “recommended” texts or consumable class supplies (goggles, kits, etc.).
*If you select to have the physical book shipped, there is a $8.95 flat rate shipping fee.
Thirty (30) days before the start of each semester, you will receive a personalized email from Barnes and Noble College inviting you to view your course material requirements in the Raider Ready portal.
With this information, you can compare pricing on the open market and a la carte through the CCC bookstore vs. the per-credit-hour charge to help inform your decision.
You will receive an email from Barnes and Noble College sent to your CCC email address. The email includes:

All students are automatically registered for the program with the following exclusions:
Yes, you can opt out (unregister) of the Raider Ready program each semester during the opt-out window.
If you elect to opt out of the Raider Ready program, you will lose access to any digital materials provided by Barnes and Noble, including access codes, and so you will need to purchase all textbooks and course materials on your own. If you choose to opt out of the Raider Ready Program, you would not lose access to Canvas or your course syllabus.
If cost is an issue, it is recommended that you contact the bookstore before opting out to get the book(s) purchase price, because the purchase cost may be higher than if you participate in the program.
Opting out is for the term (not per course or per session). If you opt out and add class(es) later, you will need to purchase those book(s) as well.
The opt-out period for each semester opens 30 days prior to the first day of class and ends on the 10th day of class. Access to digital materials within Canvas will be removed for students who opt out and end on the last day of free add/drop.

The $22 per credit hour charge is automatically added to your student account based on the number of credit hours enrolled in. Payments from grants, scholarships and other financial aid can be applied to the program charges.
The deadline to return all rental textbooks is the last day of the semester. You will receive email reminders ahead of the rental deadline.
Yes, the program provides you with the option to purchase any rental textbooks at a reduced rate during the semester.
Yes, you will still be required to return continuation course textbooks. You will be issued the same title for the next semester of the continuation course.
You can return printed material to your campus bookstore or ship it back.
To ship printed material back, the reminder email to return books will include a link to a pre-addressed shipping label. There is a flat $5 shipping fee to return printed material by mail.
You will receive an email every other day from the bookstore to remind you to verify your order. If you do not opt out, rental materials will be held at the bookstore, digital materials will be accessible within Canvas and your student account will be charged.
Yes, if you do not opt out, physical materials will be held at the bookstore, digital materials will be accessed through Canvas and your student account will be charged.
If you have already received your materials, you may return the book(s) to the bookstore within 48 hours of dropping class(es). If you drop a class and enroll in a different class, the bookstore will “swap” the required textbooks or access codes to ensure that you have what you need for your current course schedule.
Once the bookstore receives notification of your schedule change (usually will occur within 24 hours), your required course materials list will update and you will be asked to confirm your preference between on-campus pickup or delivery for any new materials and reminded to return within 48 hours any materials you may have received for your dropped course.
This does not apply to any classes you withdraw from, only those that would be exceptional drops.
Yes, you will have 48 hours to return your textbooks after opting out of the program. If rental textbooks are not returned to the bookstore by the due date, students will be assessed a replacement and non-return processing fee.
The replacement fee is 75 percent of the new book price at the time of purchase, and the non-return processing fee is 7.5 percent of that price.
All students using digital materials in the Raider Ready program should contact the Bookstore Customer Care for assistance.
If you have questions about the program or picking up physical material, please contact your campus bookstore.
