The Academic Success Center (ASC) provides many services for students. These include free on-campus and online tutoring, writing coaches for all subjects, computer lab use, printing, computer assistance, and Academic Skill Builder workshops.

Tutoring

Tutoring is a free service to our students. Our tutors have expertise in specific subjects and will serve as learning resources for students. They will help students review and study what they have learned in class. One-on-one and group tutoring is available in select subjects.

Tutors

If you have subject-matter expertise and want to help others learn, then you may qualify. Our tutors are paid and work with Academic Success Center staff to set tutoring hours that align with both the tutor’s schedule and the Center’s needs. Tutors may have the opportunity to work with individual students and/or lead study groups.

Virtual Tutoring

Students can access subject-specific tutors at scheduled virtual tutoring sessions. This will enable real-time face-to-face tutoring.

Supplemental instruction is offered in courses that are historically difficult for students. In this effort, a former student who has excelled in one of these subject areas offers additional interactive practice sessions to students.

The leader of these sessions presents course material using a variety of methods and perspectives to help students master the material.

Contact the Academic Success Center at 402-562-1297 for more information on Supplemental Instruction availability.
