They will also learn to solve application problems using proportions; find perimeter, area, and volume; and use percents. Students will simplify algebraic expressions and solve first-degree equations.
Students in a Math AAS Path can choose between Math 1020, Math 1050, or Math 1060.

Students in 1020 will learn to calculate with signed numbers, manipulate algebraic expressions, solve basic equations, work with ratios, proportions, measurement systems and tools, geometry and trigonometry, and describe data with statistical measures and graphs. Students will apply these concepts to technical applications.

Students in 1050 will learn to solve numerical and algebraic problems with signed numbers, parentheses, and exponents. They will also learn to solve vocational and financial application problems, including those with proportions, percents, algebraic formulas, various measurement systems, and geometric relationships. Students will describe data with measures of center and graphical representations.
Students in a Math AAS Path can choose between Math 1020, Math 1050, or Math 1060.
Students taking 1060 should feel confident performing calculations with decimals, percents, and fractions, manipulating basic algebra expressions, and solving basic equations.
Students in 1060 will learn to use a variety of mathematical techniques to study business concepts and applications. Students will calculate payroll earnings and deductions, measures of central tendency and dispersion, trade discounts, dating methods, markup, markdown, simple interest, and inventory.

Students taking 1140 should feel confident calculating with all real numbers, manipulating algebra expressions (including exponential expressions), solving linear equations and using equations to solve some word problems.
Students in 1140 will learn to manipulate polynomials (including factoring), fractions containing polynomials, radical expressions and functions. They will also learn to solve polynomial, rational, radical and systems of equations, and use those equations to solve word problems. Students will also learn to graph equations & inequalities.
Students taking 1150 should feel confident manipulating polynomials (including factoring), rationals, radicals, and graphs; as well as solving linear and quadratic equations & inequalilies.
Students in 1150 will learn to manipulate and graph polynomial, rational, radical, exponential, and logarithmic functions. They will also solve equations related to those functions, and solve systems of equations and inequalities. Students will learn to graph basic functions and their transformations as well as function operations and composition.

Students taking 2170 should feel confident using operations with fractions, decimals, signed numbers, proportions, ratios and rates of change, and percents, evaluating formulas, and finding equations and graphs of lines and linear models.
Students in 2170 will learn to prepare and conduct a statistical study, which includes analyzing the data and drawing conclusions. They will also learn to use probability theory and distributions, and to conduct estimation and hypothesis testing about population parameters (proportion, mean, variance, standard deviation), including point and confidence interval estimations, and sample size determination. Additionally, they will learn to analyze paired sample data and use statistical methods for analyzing categorical data.
