The Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) program prepares you for a rewarding career helping people improve their daily lives. You will learn how to support patients through therapeutic activities, adaptive equipment and personalized care plans.
You will work with individuals in settings like hospitals, schools, and rehabilitation centers. Graduates earn an Associate of Applied Science degree and are eligible to take the national certification exam to become a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).

The occupational therapy assistant program has been granted accreditation through 2026 by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), located at 7501 Wisconsin Avenue, Suite 510E Bethesda, MD 20814. Additional information regarding occupational therapy accreditation may be obtained from the ACOTE Accreditation section of the AOTA Web Page (www.acoteonline.org), or by phone 800-729-2682. Graduates of the program are eligible to sit for the occupational therapy assistant national certification examination administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). Most states require licensure in order to practice; however, state licenses are usually based on the results of the NBCOT certification exam and on the demonstration of continuing education and competency.
