The Library & Information Services program prepares you to work in libraries and information centers using today’s technology. You will learn how to organize materials, manage collections, assist patrons and use digital tools to access and share information.
This program is offered fully online and is designed to meet the needs of both urban and rural libraries. Graduates are prepared for certification as a public librarian in Nebraska through the Nebraska Library Commission.
This program is designed to transfer to the University of Nebraska-Omaha’s Bachelor Degree in Library Science.

Certificate
You can complete a Library & Information Services certificate or an Associate of Arts (AA) degree. The certificate focuses on skills needed for public librarian certification in Nebraska. The AA degree provides a pathway to transfer to a four-year university to complete a bachelor’s degree in library or information science.
The Library & Information Services Certificate is designed to meet the growing need for trained librarians in rural Nebraska. You will complete coursework that prepares you for certification through the Nebraska Library Commission. This fully online, 15-credit program gives you the skills needed to manage library resources and serve your community effectively.
Our Library & Information Services Certificate is the only certificate available in Nebraska. Graduates are qualified by the Nebraska Library Commission to become a Level II-L librarian.
