Central Community College values your voice and ensures you are treated with respect. If you have a significant issue, you may submit a formal complaint. The college prohibits any form of retaliation against those who file complaints.
This process is for all students. It should be used when an issue cannot be resolved informally.
A formal complaint is a request to fix a problem that negatively affects you. This may include concerns about instruction, policies, services or college offices.
Formal complaints must be submitted using CCC’s online formal complaint form.
Some issues follow different processes:
You may file a complaint anonymously. However, this may limit the College’s ability to investigate.
CCC keeps complaint information private whenever possible. Details are only shared with people who need to know.
Two steps below to find a resolution. All students can appeal any decision.
If you disagree with the decision, you may appeal to the Divisional Dean within 5 business days.
The Dean will review the case and respond within 5 business days. This decision is final.
You are encouraged to talk with the staff member or the administrator involved. You may also speak with their supervisor.
An Associate Dean of Students can help guide you. Issues are best addressed when reported quickly. Complaints should be submitted within 60 college business days of the incident.

If no policy was violated, an Associate Dean will help connect you with the right resource. If a policy may have been violated, a formal review will begin.

You should first speak with the instructor or their supervisor. Set up a private meeting if possible.
If the issue is not resolved, you may file a formal complaint. Complaints should be filed within 60 business days.
Grade disagreements are not handled through this process.
Submit the complaint online within 10 business days after the initial discussion.
The Associate Dean of Instruction will investigate and respond within 15 business days. This includes speaking with you, the instructor and others involved.

After the process ends, you may receive a survey. Your feedback helps CCC improve policies and training.
You can also share ideas or suggestions to help CCC improve. All feedback should be respectful and focused on positive change.
