BLS Instructor Course

American Heart Association BLS instructors teach lifesaving CPR, automatic external defibrillator (AED) and first aid courses to the general public and medical community. Instructors are not required to have a medical background to teach.

You must bring the following to class:

• Current American Heart Association BLS Provider card. If you have another type of card, you should call before enrolling in the course.
• Completed instructor application.
• Certificate of Completion for the American Heart Association Instructor Essentials course. You will receive details after you register.

You should wear comfortable clothing to class as you will be activity performing skills throughout the training. It is also recommended that you dress in layers for personal comfort in the classroom.
