EMS Instructor Course

In this 40-hour hybrid course, you will look at education and how it is applied to EMS. Five topics will be covered:

  • Intro to Professional Education
  • Creating a Positive Learning Environment
  • Course Development and Preparation
  • Instruction and Presentation
  • Effective Evaluation and Administration

Each topic in this course is combined to prepare you for the responsibilities of an EMS educator. This course incorporates methods commonly used in EMS education today including online, virtual, in-person classes, independent learning, and group learning to name a few. You will complete projects, watch videos, read, participate in discussions, and practice teaching skills with the rest of the class. By the end of the course you will have completed a lesson plan, designed a simulation, created an EMS skills presentation, built evaluation tools, and developed a short EMS cognitive presentation.
