The Paramedicine program is designed to prepare students for employment in a variety of positions within Emergency Medical Services including government, hospital based and private ambulance services, hospitals, and patient transport services; along with the ability to serve as volunteer with specifically designated ambulance service.

The program is located at the Grand Island Campus. It provides advanced life support training to an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) who is proficient and knowledgeable of the skills involved with basic life support.

The Paramedicine associate of applied science degree prepares graduates to take the National Registry of Emergency Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT), certifying examination for Paramedics; this is required by the State of Nebraska as a component for initial state licensure. Paramedicine diploma and certificate options also are available.

This program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) on the recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP)
