Veteran Service Forum at the VFW  

Monday, March 18 1pm

 

An informational public forum for Veterans and others to learn about the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs health   care benefits and services will be held at 1 p.m. March 18 at the United Veteran’s Club, 1914 West Capital Ave, Grand I sland, Neb.  

 

 Representatives from the VA Nebraska-Western Iowa Health Care System’s Grand Island Community-Based Outpatient Clinic and commmunity Living Center will highlight the latest information for Veterans regarding services and benefits.

 

The event is being hosted by the VA NWIHCS Grand Island Veteran’s Advisory Board, which is comprised of Veterans who receive health care services through the clinic.

2013 Hiring Our Heroes Veterans Event – GRAND ISLAND -

 

The Nebraska Department of Labor is sponsoring a hiring event being conducted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, the U.S. Department of Labor Veterans' Employment and Training Service (US DOL VETS), the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the Nebraska Committee of the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), The American Legion, NBC News, and other local partners. This job fair is for veteran job seekers, active duty military members, guard and reserve members, and military spouses. This event will be a one-of-a-kind FREE hiring fair for both employers and job seekers.

 "Finding Light Through the Darkness" Suicide Prevention Conference

 

- Suicide is listed as the 3rd leading cause of death in teens. Whether it’s a family member, friend, acquaintance, or a student at your school or in your community, many lives are increasingly touched by suicide. This conference will provide you with the information you need to respond to youth suicide ideation, completion and the aftermath.
