Travis Karr, Director of Military & Veteran Services:  Grand Island Campus, College Wide


image004Travis served in the United States Marine Corps as a Sergeant and is an Operation Iraqi Freedom Veteran.  He earned his travis crewundergrad at Bellevue University in Business Administration, is a Certified Executive Coach and is currently pursuing a graduate degree in Business Managment.  His currently serves as the Director for the Center of Excellence for  Veteran Student Success Grant and the Director of Veteran & Miltiary Services the Central Community College (CCC).  He also serves as a board member for the Nebraska Brain Injury Association and is a member of the VA Hospital Veterans Advisory Board as well asthe Nebraska Veterans Task Force, Central Nebraska Military Support Community and Student Veterans of America Advisor. He continues to assist other colleges throughout Nebraska and other states in developing their Veteran and Military services and policies. Travis recieved the Spirt of Nebraska Award 2012 , for his efforts in educating, providing resources, and advocating for Veterans and Service members who sustain a brain injury or post traumatic stress.   

Travis oversees Veteran & Military Services college wide and his office is located within the Veterans & Miltiary Resrouce Center on the Grand Island Campus, Room 444

Adam Armstrong, Outreach Coordinator: Hastings, Kearney, Lexington, & Holdrege


Adam webServed in the United States Air Force and Nebraska Air National Guard as a Staff Sergeant and is an Operational Enduring Freedom Veteran. He also held positions as a civilian contractor in both Kuwait and Iraq. 

He has earned an Associate of Arts degree in Business Administration from Northeast Community College.  His current position is Outreach Coordinator for Central Community College (CCC) on the Hastings, Kearney, Lexington and Holdredge Campuses.  He is involved in worship  music planning at Trinity Lutheran Church and River of Life in Grand Island. In his spare time he enjoys shooting, sports, music and golf.


 Office is located within the Veterans & Miltiary Resource Center on the Hastings Campus in the Hall Building.

Christina Lemburg, Administrative Assistant:  Grand Island Campus


image011Served in the United States Army as a Sergeant and is currently serving in the Nebraska National Guard.  She is an Operation Iraqi Freedom Veteran.  She earned an Associate of Social Sciences degree from Barstow Community College, California.  She is currently a full time student at the University of Nebraska-Kearney as a Social Work Major and enrolled into the ROTC program.  Her current position is the Administrative Assistant in the Veterans Service Center in Grand Island Main Campus.  She is involved in helping people create and maintain workout plans to encourage a healthy lifestyle.  During her spare time she likes to run, bike and swim.

 Jamie Anne Gustafson, Outreach Coordinator: Columbus Campus

Jamie AnneServed in the United States Air Force Reserve as a Staff Sergeant until 2012. During her service she was presented the Iraqi Campaign Medal along with many other awards. Currently Jamie Anne attends Peru University completing her bachelor’s degree in Business. She is excited to be part of a highly decorated Veterans & Military Services team. Her position will be held at the Columbus Campus in the VMRC office above the library. Jamie Anne is involved in various community organizations and serves on and American Legion Color Guard. Her skillset and talents will fit in great within the department and on campus.
