Central Community College Foundation Hall of Fame

The Central Community College Foundation Hall of Fame was established by the Foundation to honor individuals who have demonstrated exceptional support for Central Community College and its mission over the years.achievement

All who have been inducted into the Hall of Fame are memorialized and honored on plaques bearing their picture and a brief description of their exemplary support to the College and/or the Foundation. These plaques hand at the entrance of the administration board room at Central Community College, Grand Island.

franzenlavernjuly2013Dr. LaVern Franzen was inducted into the CCC Foundation Hall of Fame in October 2013. LaVern retired from CCC after 41 years of service. LaVern held various positions throughout his career including Accounting Instructor, Associate Dean, Dean of Instruction, President of Hastings Campus, and College President. He has been actively involved in various organizations within the 25-county CCC service area and beyond. LaVern and his wife, Connie, are the proud parents of 4 children and even prouder grandparents of 4 grandchildren.

Those who have been honored to date are:  Lois Behlen, Columbus, 1993; Ken Wortman, Aurora, 1994; Ken Torczon, Columbus, 1995; Wuanita Butler & Butler Family, Hastings, 1997; Jim & Norma Merrick, Grand Island, 1997; Dale & Dolores Watley, Sioux Falls, SD, 1998; Ron & Carol Cope, Kearney, 2000; Bud & Rita Fleischer, Columbus, 2001; Dr. Joseph W. Preusser, Fairfield Bay, AR, 2002; Dr. Jack & June Yost, Hastings, 2004; Ken Morrison, Hastings, 2006; Jack Crowley, Hastings, 2008; S.N. "Bud" & Gloria Wolbach, Grand Island, 2011; and Dr. LaVern Franzen, Hastings, 2013.
