TRiO provides services to those with barriers to their academic needs

    The TRiO/Student Support Services (TRiO/SSS) program helps college students achieve their educational goals. Some services available to qualified and accepted students include: 

    • Tuition-free College Success class 
    • Financial education & scholarship assistance
    • Transfer assistance to four-year institutions 
    • Course advising
    • Academic tutoring referrals
    • Campus & community resource referrals
    • Career, personal, and financial advising 
    • Educational and social activities 
    • Peer mentoring program

    TRiO/SSS helps students by giving individualized attention and coaching to participants.  TRiO/SSS helps students graduate!

    Qualifications

    TRiO/SSS serves a minimum of 186 CCC students each year.  Students must apply and be accepted into this program.   To qualify students must be enrolled at least 3/4 time, demonstrate an academic need, be a US citizen or national or meet the residency requirements for Federal student financial assistance, and meet one or more of the following criteria

    • Be a first generation student (neither parent is a four-year college graduate) 
    • Meet federal low income guidelines. 
    • Be accepted in a CCC program of study leading to an associate's degree or academic transfer. 
    • Be an individual with disabilities.

    TRiO Application

    It is easy to apply for TRiO/SSS.  Just complete the following short application and submit online. Students will be informed during the summer if chosen as a participant.

    The TRiO Coordinator on the campus you plan to attend will immediately begin working with you to help you succeed in college. Contact the TRiO Coordinator on your campus for assistance with your questions. Call toll-free to all locations at 1-877-222-0780 and ask for the TRiO office.
