Next Beyond the Screen Class Set for May 3 in Grand Island

“Citizen Kane” will be the featured movie in a “Beyond the Screen” class on May 3 at Central Community College-Grand Island.

This 1941 classic focuses on the last word ever spoken by 70-year-old newspaper tycoon Charles Foster Kane: “Rosebud.” After releasing a newsreel summarizing Kane’s professional and personal successes and failures, the producer assigns reporter Jerry Thompson to discover the meaning of Kane’s last word.

The “Beyond the Screen” series is offered free of charge and is open to people who enjoy watching and discussing movies. The movie will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a discussion moderated by CCC English instructor Jim Kosmicki to follow.
